Grand Trefoil Scarf Pattern - AM-007 REQUIRES: Yarn: 2 Skeins Alpine Meadow “Moonbeams” Worsted Weight Yarn (approx. 200 yards) Pictured in Moonbeams Amethyst Needles: U.S. Size 10 Gauge: not critical. Finished size with 4 inches fringe: approx. 5 in. x 60 in. Pattern: Grand Trefoil from Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara G. Walker. Multiple of 5 stitches + 3. ABBREVIATIONS: DL: Drop Loop. Drop the second loop of the double yarn over of previous row on needle. The first loop is already knitted. YO: Yarn over. Wrap yarn over the needle from front to back of work. K2tog: knit two stitches together as if they were one. INSTRUCTIONS: Cast on 18 stitches loosely. Knit 3 Rows. Preparation Row: Knit 3, *(yo) twice, k2 tog, k3, rep from * Row 1: K3, * DL, (yo) twice, kw tog, k3, rep from *, end last repeat knit 1. Row 2: K3, * DL, k2, (yo) twice, k2 tog, k1; rep from * Row 3: K3, * DL, (yo) twice, k2 tog, k3; rep from * Repeat rows 1-3 until scarf measures approx. 51 inches Then knit 3 rows and cast off loosely. Add 4 inches fringe if desired. If not adding fringe; repeat rows 1-3 until about 6 yards remain before knitting 3 rows and casting off loosely. Finishing: Weave in ends. Wash gently in cool water, rinse, blot on towel. Lay flat on towel and pat into shape. Let dry. Wear and Enjoy! Steam lightly to block.
