Beehive Scarf Pattern to Knit

Vertical Lace Scarf Pattern - AM-004

REQUIRES:

Yarn: 2 skeins Alpine Meadow Moonbeams Sport (Approx. 240 yds.)

Needles: US sz. - 10.5

Gauge: In stockinette stitch, 14 st. = 4 inches. Just this once, gauge is not critical

Finished size: 6 in. x 54 in.

Pattern: Vertical Lace Trellis from Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara Walker. Worked on odd number of stitches.

ABBREVIATIONS:

YO: Yarn over needle from front to back

K2tog: Knit 2 stitches together as one

SSK: Slip 1 stitch knit-wise, slip a second stitch knit-wise. Replace these 2 stitches on left needle and knit together through back loops.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cast on 21 stitches. Knit 2 rows.

Work pattern rows 1-4 until piece measures 54” or desired length.

Rows 1 & 3: (wrong side) K2, purl to last 2 stitches, end K2

Row 2: K3, *YO, K2tog. Repeat from *. End K2

Row 4: K2, *SSK, YO. Repeat from *. End K3

Knit 2 rows. Bind off.


Work in pattern until piece measures 54 inches or desired length. Knit 2 rows. Bind off.

Steam lightly to block. Blocking is optional but it enhances the lace and is highly recommended.
