I was blown away by the Schacht Sidekick Wheel. In my opinion, it is the very best wheel for travel and would also serve as an only wheel. The sidekick wheel is compact and sets up quickly and easily. The treadling is easy and smooth. The Sidekick is responsive, rugged and lightweight.
The Sidekick's features:
Folds to approx. 21 ½ in. x 15 in. x 8 ¼ in. Integrated storage of bobbins, flyer, and whorls for transport. Lightweight at 13 pounds. The 13 3/4 inch drive wheel allows for ratios between 4.25 to 15.25 with optional whorls. Long, comfortable treadles. Uses the same bobbins, whorls and flyer as the Schacht Matchless and Ladybug wheels. 25 inch orifice height for comfortable spinning. Employs Scotch tension with precise control knob. The drive wheel spins on ball bearings. The flyer turns on self-aligning bearings. Drive band tension adjuster allows for all whorls to be used with one drive band.
The complete Sidekick comes with regular flyer, 3 travel bobbins, 2 whorls, poly drive belt, threading hook, carrying strap and manual.
